About

Welcome to Amusement Park Mom!

This website has been created to give you information about great places to take your family in and around Central Pennsylvania. While we focus greatly on amusement parks, we are also going to showcase some lesser-known, but wonderful, places for families to visit.

This site is devoted to family adventures and our hope is to keep the information here positive and informative for families of all ages and sizes so at times in appropriate comments may be edited or removed entirely.

Reviews are written by my family – ages 1, 15, 29 and 39 – so you will see a wide range of voices giving you information and first hand accounts of all that we have seen.

My name is Shawn, but please just call me AP Mom. I love amusement parks and always have, but I do not ride. I’ll be here with the history of the parks, a Mom’s point of view and tips on saving money.

My husband, Food Loving Hubby, has learned to love amusement parks but will be the first to say he is there for the food. You can expect reviews of the best amusement park eats out there from him.

Our oldest daughter, Jack, is the thrill seeker in the family and will ride ANYTHING so you’ll get most of the thrill ride info from her. She also offers the teen point of view on various things.  One thing you won’t hear from her is a review of water rides.  She isn’t keen on getting wet.

Our youngest daughter, Rose, just turned 1 and helps us all see the park from a toddler’s point of view.

One thing you will never see her at AP Mom are paid reviews.  I don’t accept anything from the parks I attend other than what a normal patron would receive.

If you have questions or would like us to feature a special place here on Amusement Park Mom, please drop me a line at APMom@amusementparkmom.com.

Below are some photos of our favorite places.

Enjoy the site!
